Exciting MTLC Updates!

Rwandan Minister of Education Honorable Gaspard Twagirayezu, Head of MGS Sister Laetitia, and Maranyundo Initiative Board Member, Kathy Kantengwa

In an exciting step forward for the Maranyundo Training and Learning Center (MTLC), the Rwandan Minister of Education, Honorable Gaspard Twagirayezu, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on August 1st with the Benebikira Sisters and the Maranyundo Initiative to launch the MTLC. This groundbreaking partnership marked the beginning of a new era in professional development for Rwandan teachers, particularly in areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

With the MTLC and it’s 16 ‘satellite learning hubs’ across Rwanda, Rwandan educators will gain access to high-quality training and resources designed to strengthen their digital literacy skills, improve classroom experiences, putting both teachers and students on a globally competitive scale.

It is estimated that within in 3-5 years, the MTLC and its 16 “satellite learning hubs” will impact an estimated 255 schools, 9,000 teachers, and 130,000 students.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates on the MTLC! A reminder: the grand opening of the MTLC is set for February 2026. If you're interested in joining the group traveling to Maranyundo for this special event, please reach out to us at info@maranyundo.org.
